Excellence in any surgical decipline demands continuous upgrading and modernization for incessant progress. Hence it was my dream to pioneer such an institute in Vadodara which would stand at par with the most developed burns and cosmetic surgery institutes worldwide.
So now at 'Amish Hospital' we have made a humble effort to provide such 'par excellence' care for critical burns and cosmetic surgery patients for the first time in this country.

AIR FLUIDIZED BED : (REDECTRON, Holland)
The unique feature of this bed is that the patient floats on a layer of microsphere (70 – 140 u) which are suspended in an air flow This results in a very low contact a very low contact pressure (8 – 10 mm of Hg) well bellow capillary pressure and maintains good blood circulation. Controlled temperature air( 20 – 36 C) comes from beneath the bed and keeps the contact air dry, this prevents maceration of skin. The bed has low humidity (40 %) & hence no matrix culture is provided for microorganism to grow and the risk of bacterial transmission is eliminated. All these features help to prevent superficial burns to become deep, a common problem with other beds.

BURNS I.C.U.
All rooms have laminar flow and H.E.P.A. filters which eliminates organism upto 0.3u. Thus it makes the room ‘BACTERIA FREE' which helps in rapid healing of the wounds. Rooms have positive pressure flow system which prevents outside air contamination

It has an air curtain at the entrance with a ‘Trap area ‘ before main door with a laminar flow, H.E.P.A. filter with positive pressure flow system over and above gadgets like Anaesthetic trolley, monitor & ventilator. It is equipped with E.T.O. gas sterilizer , Bipolar cautery storz USA, Operative microscope Liposuction canula(Tulip, USA) etc.

BURNS DRESSING O.T.
Separate theatre with special shower trolley to give shower bath from filtered water tank with hot and cold water mixing system. This plays crucial role in thorough debridement of the burns wound.

For the care of respiratory burns 20% of total burns have respiratory burns), we have state of the art micro processor control volume and time cycle and pressure support ventilator. It has control, assist control SIMV mode with most required facility of PEEP, oxygen analyzer analyzer and humidifier from Fisher and Paykel Newzeland.
We have added now Noninvasive BIPAP Ventilator (Respitronic Co. U.S.A.) This enables us to fight a grueling battle |

ELECTRO DERMATOME (Puddget, U.S.A)
It takes precise even thickness graft ten times faster than routine dermatome.
It gives more strips of grafts as there is no Zig Zag loss which occurs with normal dermatome. This is crucial factor to be considered in major burns where limited donor site is available.
Of course it is the instrument of choice to take a graft from odd sites like chest, abdomen, scalp, back etc,

Expands the skin four times and covers large area with autograft. Important tool for major burns where paucity of donor site exists.

It can expand skin to 1:4, 1:6 and 1:9.
